Affogato

I'm stretching it a bit by listing Affogato under desserts. It is actually Vanilla ice cream with hot expresso.

Never the less, it is delicious - a magical combination of ice-cold and piping-hot and, mark my words, you will remember this page when inpromptu guests arrive for dinner. They will be even more impressed if you just happen to have a roll of biscotti dough hanging around the freezer to serve with it.

Ingredients:

Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
Hot expresso

Method:

1. You can make the vanilla ice-cream or buy the best one you can find. Place one scoop in a cappucino cup.

2. Place the cup on a saucer with a teaspoon and a couple of biscotti biscuits on the side.

3. Carry to the dining table with a jug of hot expresso and pour over the top.
